Job Summary

Fishbeck, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Construction Project Manager to join our team in the Civil Field Department at our Cincinnati, Ohio office.

The primary duty of this position is to assist senior engineering staff in the administration and oversight of construction projects for the Ohio Department of Transportation, Local Agency, and municipal clients.

This position requires self-motivation, commitment to high-quality work performance, excellent planning and communication skills, and ability to assist staff in a project team environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with project administration, construction oversight, and coordination for construction projects of varying size and scope, including but not limited to highway and bridge rehabilitation and reconstruction projects.
  • Verify the contractor's completed work complies with the contract documents for assigned projects.
  • Assist the project engineer in oversight of technicians for inspection, administration, and documentation of infrastructure projects from pre-bid meetings to contract close-out.
  • Review work produced by the project oversight team in both the office and the field and verify the acceptability of the generated documents.
  • Provide guidance and training to inspection staff.
  • Communicate effectively with client representatives, staff, local agencies, and the general public.
  • Effectively communicate project status and issues to the project engineer.
  • Assist in drafting of responses to contractor correspondence, claims, and RFIs as needed and appropriate.
  • Assist in reviewing contractor submittals.
  • Assist with construction progress meeting minutes.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Technology/Construction Management.
  • 1 or more years of ODOT, or heavy highway and/or bridge construction experience, or knowledge of field inspection and construction oversight procedures.
  • Significant field experience a plus.
  • Experience with both ODOT and Local Agency / municipal projects.
  • ODOT prequalification as Construction Engineer Level 1 or able to obtain this prequalification.
