We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Social Worker to join our team at the Veterans Affairs, Veterans Health Administration. As a Social Worker, you will play a critical role in providing psychosocial support and services to our nation's veterans and their families.
Key Responsibilities- Provide consultation services to other staff members regarding the psychosocial needs of veterans and the impact of psychosocial problems on healthcare and adherence to treatment plans.
- Support Patient Aligned Care Team (PACT) members with challenging veteran-care situations.
- Provide leadership in identifying and addressing ethical issues impacting veterans and staff.
- Initiate and participate in ethical consultations as appropriate.
- Maintain complete veteran confidentiality.
- Analyze ethical and care issues, applying appropriate theoretical principles, and ensure application of institutional policy.
- Serve as a resource for the protection of veteran and family rights.
- Provide considerate care respecting veteran and family value and belief systems.
- Possess the ability to evaluate their practice through professional peer review, case conferences, and other organizational means.
- Have primary knowledge of the use of medical and mental health diagnoses, disabilities, and treatment procedures.
- Must be a U.S. citizen.
- Must be proficient in written and spoken English.
- Must be able to pass a background/security investigation.
- Must be able to serve a probationary period.
- Must be able to participate in the seasonal influenza vaccination program and the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) vaccination program.
A master's degree in social work from a school of social work fully accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) is required. Licensure or certification in a state to independently practice social work at the master's degree level is also required.
Work ScheduleMonday-Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm.
