About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled FPGA Design Engineer to join our team at Lockheed Martin Corporation. As an FPGA Design Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing complex digital signal processing systems using FPGAs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop FPGA firmware architecture and custom digital board designs.
  • Develop digital signal processing, messaging, control, and high-speed communications systems.
  • Collaborate with program leadership and teammates to ensure successful project execution.
  • Estimate, break down, and plan work for the firmware team.
  • Coach junior engineers on complex DSP algorithms for radar systems.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, or equivalent.
  • 7+ years of relevant work experience in FPGA design and development.
  • Prior technical leadership experience.
  • FPGA architecture and design expertise, including AMD/Xilinx and Intel/Altera devices.

Desired Skills:

  • Strong working knowledge of digital signal processing functions, specific to radar and electronic warfare capabilities.
  • Extensive VHDL firmware programming capability and experience with Xilinx Vivado, Intel Quartus, or Microsemi Libero development platforms.
  • Use of Mentor Questa HDL simulator and UVM verification techniques.
  • Experience with MATLAB modeling and higher-level code development, including Nvidia CUDA, OpenCL, Simulink HDL Coder, and Xilinx System Generator.

Security Clearance:

This position requires a government security clearance, and the selected candidate must be a US citizen.
