About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Cafe Assistant to join our team at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital Plymouth. As a Cafe Assistant, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service to our patients, staff, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate the cash register and manage the cashier station with accuracy and efficiency.
  • Reconcile cash and charge readings, and report any discrepancies to the manager.
  • Maintain the menu board, ensuring daily specials and prices are clearly displayed.
  • Assist in serving, preparing, stocking, and cleaning the cafeteria line, equipment, and tables.
  • Provide excellent customer service, greeting employees, staff, visitors, and patients in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to hospital standards.

Requirements:

  • Ability to read, write, and perform basic math skills to make change and operate the register.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask with accuracy.
