We are seeking a highly skilled Breast Sonographer to join our team at Advocate Aurora Health. As a Breast Sonographer, you will be responsible for performing high-quality ultrasound examinations to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of breast diseases.
Key Responsibilities:- Position patients and select technical factors and equipment to obtain optimal quality scans.
- Operate portable ultrasound equipment to perform procedures as requested throughout the hospital.
- Assist physicians with recommendations for obtaining optimal studies by suggesting technical factors for procedures.
- Secure pertinent history from patients for each procedure to provide radiologists with adequate information before film interpretation.
- Graduation from a program approved by ARDMS.
- Medical Sonographer (RDMS) registration with Abdomen issued by the American Registry of Diagnostic Med Sonography (ARDMS) within 3 months.
- Medical Sonographer (RDMS) registration with OB/GYN issued by the American Registry of Diagnostic Med Sonography (ARDMS) within 3 months.
- Vascular Technologist (RVT) registration issued by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) within 3 months.
- Vascular Sonography (VS) registration issued by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) within 3 months.
- Vascular Specialist (RVS) registration issued by the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) within 3 months.
- Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS-AE) registration with Adult Echo issued by the ARDMS within 18 months.
- Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) registration issued by the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) within 18 months.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) within 6 months.
- Ability to adjust to flexible hours at minimal notice.
- Ability to work odd hours (late hours on-call).
- Ability to respond to emergency call back in minimal time.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time.
- Ability to constantly view small CRT screens during exam.
- Ability to perform lifting activities related to patients.
- Exposed to radiation.
- Ability to operate portable equipment.
- Ability to deal with extremely ill patients.
- Ability to communicate with patients.
- Ability to adjust to flexible work hours.
- Ability to participate on-call program and available to department needs with minimal notice.
