Job Summary

As a Psychiatrist 3, you will have overall administrative responsibility for a major treatment component organized to provide the full range of patient services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure that treatment programs are planned, organized, and conducted per patient needs.
  • Provide clinical and administrative oversight to medical staff, including psychiatrists, physicians, pediatricians, psychiatric nurse practitioners, and pharmacists.
  • Oversee the quality of treatment services provided by medical staff.
  • Perform case reviews and provide treatment to patients.
  • Provide advice and serve as a resource to lower-level facility medical staff.
  • Collect and analyze data to enhance medication management on an ongoing basis.
Requirements
  • Must have possession of a license and current registration to practice medicine in New York State.
  • Certification in psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
  • Two years of post-board certification experience as a member of the psychiatric staff in a psychiatric hospital and/or in the psychiatry department of a general hospital, one year of which must have included clinical supervision of other psychiatrists, psychiatric residents, or fellows.
