Position Overview

As a Senior Welding Engineering Specialist, you will provide essential engineering support for sophisticated manufacturing processes that require specialized expertise and skills. Your role will involve project management, design, development, evaluation, and quality assurance on intricate engineering initiatives, consistently presenting innovative solutions to complex technical challenges.

Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
  • Conduct Welding Engineering tasks to enhance daily welding operations.
  • Utilize your technical engineering expertise to assess process efficiency, troubleshoot defects, execute quality control measures, and promote cost reduction.
  • Evaluate, implement, and create intricate welding specifications in collaboration with clients.
  • Develop reliable and repeatable joining procedures for high-precision components utilizing various welding techniques including Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW), Electron Beam Welding (EBW), Laser Beam Welding (LBW), Resistance Welding, and Vacuum Furnace Brazing.
  • Prepare and present technical reports, effectively communicating with customer subject matter experts.
  • Draft weld qualification reports, weld procedure specifications, and operational instructions.
  • Lead the process center as a Subject Matter Expert, outlining growth initiatives and process enhancement projects.

Qualifications
To be considered for this position, you must possess:
  • U.S. citizenship to obtain and maintain the necessary security clearance.
  • A minimum of six (6) years of progressive, applied experience in engineering roles within a technical or manufacturing context.
  • A Bachelor of Science degree in Welding Engineering or Welding Engineering Technology from an ABET accredited institution.

Preferred Qualifications
We value candidates with:
  • A graduate degree (Master's or PhD) in Welding, Metallurgical, or Materials Engineering from an ABET accredited program.
  • An undergraduate degree in Welding, Welding Technology, Metallurgical, or Materials Engineering from an ABET accredited institution.
  • Relevant experience in welding engineering or similar metal processing roles, ideally four or more years.
  • Research and development experience in welding processes and metallurgy.
  • A strong technical understanding of stainless-steel welding metallurgy.
  • Experience in developing welding procedures for EBW, LBW, GTAW, Resistance Welding, and/or Furnace Processes.
  • A passion for advancing welding technology and processes.
  • The ability to quickly adapt to new materials and processes.
  • Proven capability to create and modify complex engineering and process equipment software.
