Instrumentation Technician Role at Veolia

We are seeking a skilled Instrumentation Technician to join our team at Veolia North America. This is an exciting opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology and contribute to the success of our organization.

About the Job

The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, calibrating, troubleshooting, repairing, modifying, and overhauling instrumentation, including controls, communication systems, and computer and microprocessor systems associated with the Sewerage Conveyance/Collection System and treatment plants processing raw sewerage.

This role also involves installing, maintaining, calibrating, troubleshooting, repairing, and overhauling non-process equipment such as safety, surveillance, and security, and analytical instrumentation. The position requires working in confined entry areas, hazardous gases, heights, weather, noise, dirt, dust, organic waste, and explosive environments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install, maintain, calibrate, troubleshoot, repair, and overhaul indicating, recording, telemetering, and controlling instrumentation used to measure and control variables associated with computer and microprocessor control systems and peripheral equipment.
  • Implement and maintain a preventative maintenance schedule to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
  • Maintain inventory of spare parts and records, ordering parts and equipment as needed.
  • Update Operating and Maintenance documents, including hard copy and software, as necessary.
  • Maintain maintenance and repair records on equipment and systems.
  • Troubleshoot and repair printed circuit boards.
  • Read process, instrument, and ladder diagrams, electronic and pneumatic schematics.
Requirements
  • Associate Degree in Electronics Technology from an accredited technical college or demonstrated ability preferred.
  • One to three years of experience in the electronics technology field preferred.
  • Knowledge and skills in advanced digital and analog electronics, computer/control systems, soldering and desoldering, reading schematics, diagnosing and repairing equipment problems.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective public and working relationships, communicate effectively via written and oral methods, and prepare accurate oral and written reports.
