Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Pharmacist to join our team at the Defense Health Agency. As a Pharmacist, you will play a critical role in providing clinical pharmacy services to our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide authoritative instructions, advice, and assistance to prescribing and dispensing officials on the effectiveness, suitability, hazards, and appropriateness of medications.
  • Prepare and dispense medications using appropriate techniques and following established policies and procedures.
  • Monitor the dispensing of all pharmaceuticals in the facility and analyze patterns and trends to determine appropriate, effective, and economical prescribing and dispensing.
  • Counsel or recommend alternatives that will still satisfy the medical needs of the situation.
  • Participate in at least one of the following advanced practice activities: Conduct Medication Therapy Management (MTM) Services, Participate as an integrated pharmacist in the acute care setting, or Serve as a Hematology/Oncology specialist.
Requirements
  • A doctoral degree in Pharmacy that is recognized by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained.
  • A current, active, valid, and unrestricted license to practice pharmacy in a State, a territory of the United States, or the District of Columbia.
  • One year of professional pharmacy experience which includes preparing pharmaceuticals, providing medication counseling to patients, and providing pharmaceutical education to healthcare professionals.
