Job Description:

  • Work in a fast-paced Trauma Level 4 Emergency Department, managing a variety of urgent care cases.
  • Provide high-quality nursing care to ER patients from admission to discharge or transfer.
  • Manage a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4, which may increase during high census periods.
  • Utilize EPIC for charting in a dynamic environment.
  • Collaborate with physicians, hospitalists, and CRNAs, who are available for support and guidance.
Conduct tasks such as triage, drawing labs, performing breathing treatments, and handling ECGs.
  • Participate in departmental orientation with a preceptor and have support during initial shifts.
  • Work according to the hospital's scheduling needs, including every other or every third weekend and every third holiday.
  • Float to assist with tasks in inpatient settings without being assigned inpatient responsibilities.
  • Adhere to a scrub color policy allowing any color.
  • Support a collaborative work environment in a small ED unit with 4 ED rooms, 1 triage room, 2 trauma rooms, and 4 overflow rooms.
