Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Service Technician to join our team at Aerotek. As a Service Technician, you will be responsible for performing electrical and mechanical troubleshooting and repair work, as well as handling custom orders over the phone and computer system.

The ideal candidate will have 6+ months of experience in a mechanical role, such as an appliance service tech, forklift service tech, auto mechanic, or tire technician. You will also need to possess a valid driver's license and a clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).

Responsibilities
  • Perform electrical and mechanical troubleshooting and repair work
  • Handle custom orders over the phone and computer system
  • Diagnose and order new parts as needed
  • Work with internal employees and vendors/customers
  • Travel to different sites throughout the metro area to perform service and repair work
Requirements
  • 6+ months of experience in a mechanical role
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Excellent mechanical aptitude
  • Pass a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check
  • Possess a valid driver's license
  • Provide own tools (basic mechanics set plus volt/amp meters)
Work Environment

The work environment is clean and organized, with high racks to pull orders from up to three levels high on a cherry picker. Close-toed shoes are required, but shorts can be worn in the summer. The repair section feels like a general mechanic shop with 3-4 people working in the area.

The warehouse is large and busy, and after completing the training program, the technician will move to a field service role, traveling throughout the Twin Cities to perform onsite service and repair work.

The team consists of 20 people on the first shift and 15 people on the second shift. The job typically runs from 8am-4:30pm Monday-Friday, with occasional overtime. Pay rate is $20-24/hr, potentially increasing to $28/hr for those with spot-on experience.
