Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Family Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant to join our team at American Family Care. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care, diagnose and treat medical conditions, and work closely with other healthcare professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Examine patients, obtain and document accurate medical history, and address patients' concerns
  • Prescribe pharmaceuticals, other medications, and treatment regimens to treat identified medical conditions
  • Discuss potential side effects of medication/treatment with patients and ensure that all allergy information is up to date before prescribing medication/treatment
  • Perform minor procedures necessary for patient management, including suturing, incision and drainage, foreign body removal, etc.
  • Provide advice to patients for lifestyle and diet changes that may improve their health or help to treat the health issue they are experiencing
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with all federal and state health information privacy laws
Requirements
  • Master's Degree from an Accredited University
  • Licensed as Advance Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) OR Physician Assistant (PA)
  • Board-Certified Family Nurse Practitioner OR Board-Certified Physician's Assistant
  • Current Texas State License
  • 1+ years' experience in Urgent Care
  • 1+ years' experience as Single Provider
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) or Advance Life Support (ACLS) certified preferred
