Job Summary

ConnextCare is seeking a skilled Patient Access Representative to join our team. As a Patient Access Representative, you will be responsible for greeting patients, visitors, and representatives, directing them to the appropriate office or destination. You will also register patients for their scheduled appointments, collecting and verifying demographic and insurance information. Additionally, you will scan driver licenses or photo IDs and insurance cards into electronic medical records software, collect payment portions of visits, and distribute and secure signatures for required consent forms. You will also verify insurance eligibility and secure signatures on appropriate insurance forms as needed. Your duties will also include initiating encounter forms for patients' visits, answering incoming phone calls, transferring patients' calls where needed, and scheduling appointments as appropriate. You will also post charges on patient accounts and record all payments collected on designated forms. Furthermore, you will close daily journals and balance receipts to payments received, reconcile cash drawers or money bags, and scan all patient documents as instructed. You will also take notice of excessive wait times and notify the Nurse Manager, and notify triage nurses of any emergencies or nurse-related questions that patients have. You will also transport walk-ins or emergencies to appropriate areas if needed, and make sure waiting areas are neat and clean. You will also print schedules three days in advance and be flexible to organizational needs across the ConnextCare network. You will also engage in Patient Centered Medical Home initiatives, including participating as part of the Clinical Care Team. You will also perform other duties and responsibilities as requested by management and supervision.

Requirements

High school graduate or GED, verbal and written communication skills, office applications preferred. You must demonstrate proper judgment and decision-making skills when necessary, comply with the organization's code of conduct, safety rules, and adhere to all company policies. You must carry out job responsibilities in an ethical, effective, and professional manner, and be willing and demonstrate the ability to cooperate, work, and communicate with coworkers and supervisors. You must also demonstrate computer proficiency with Microsoft Suite and electronic medical record systems, and possess a willingness to accept direction from providers and supervisors. You must also possess the ability to work well and with compassion in stressful situations, maintain a professional and courteous demeanor with both patients and coworkers, and be keenly aware of the importance of confidentiality in all aspects of the position. You must also possess the ability to firmly pursue payments on account.

Salary Description

$15.25-$17.75 Depending on Experience
