Position Summary

The Overnight Grocery Associate plays a crucial role in assisting the department manager to achieve the sales and profit objectives set for the grocery department. This position involves restocking products throughout the store during overnight hours, enhancing customer trust and loyalty by ensuring a consistent and compliant shopping environment. The associate is responsible for providing fresh, appealing products and delivering courteous, knowledgeable service.

Key Responsibilities

Service (70%)

Creates a welcoming atmosphere for customers, ensuring they feel valued and appreciated. Merchandises the department according to established plans and maintains product availability, freshness, and proper rotation. Assists customers in locating products and offers suggestions as needed.

Leadership (10%)

Fosters a culture of trust and respect among team members by promoting collaboration and effective communication regarding company and departmental information. Complies with all applicable laws and company policies.

Financial Oversight (10%)

Maintains vigilance over inventory and stocking conditions, reporting any discrepancies. Inspects products for quality and freshness, taking necessary actions for any items that do not meet standards. Ensures compliance with food safety guidelines regarding product temperatures and documentation.

Compliance and Safety (10%)

Upholds company standards for safety, food handling, sanitation, and productivity. Adheres to all regulatory requirements related to food safety and executes product recalls promptly. Promotes a culture of safety by identifying and reporting unsafe conditions and ensuring all associates are trained in safety protocols.

Additional Duties

Performs other job-related tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

Education

High School Diploma or GED required.

Language Proficiency

English required; Spanish preferred.

Experience

0-3 years of relevant experience preferred.

Skills and Abilities

Must be at least 18 years old and authorized to work in the United States. Successful completion of pre-employment drug testing and background checks is required. Strong customer service and communication skills are essential.

Working Conditions

This position involves physical demands such as standing, walking, lifting, and working in various environmental conditions. Personal protective equipment may be required.
