Amergis is seeking a skilled School Nurse to provide high-quality patient care in a school setting. The ideal candidate will have 1-2 years of experience as an LVN or RN, a BLS certification, and a valid LVN license.
Job Responsibilities:- Utilize the nursing process to plan, implement, and evaluate student care needs.
- Demonstrate skill nursing care in accordance with prescribed orders and IHP.
- Perform interventions, treatments, and medications administration according to identified priorities.
- Monitor and document effectiveness of interventions, treatments, and medications.
- Complete documentation per client expectations.
- Coordinate and facilitate services between the school, local health agencies, and other community resources.
- Communicate with school district personnel about student plans of care and IHP.
- Notify District School Nurse/Amergis Supervisor/Parent/Physician regarding changes in student condition.
- Evaluate and assure student safety at all times.
- Adhere to Amergis and school district policies.
- Maintain accuracy in student health records.
- Graduate of an accredited registered, practical, or vocational nursing program.
- Licensed as a Licensed Practical, Licensed Vocational, or Registered Nurse in state(s) where practicing.
- One year of professional experience, preferred.
- Complies with accepted professional standards and practice.
- Willingness to participate in skill advancement, if applicable.
- Participation and completion of Amergis' Competency program.
- Current CPR.
- PPD or chest x-ray if applicable.
- Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation).
- Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements.
- Successful completion of new hire training as applicable to job site.
- Understand patient confidentiality and HIPAA requirements.
- Ability to effectively elicit/provide information to and from appropriate individuals via strong communication skills.
