Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled PLC Technician to join our team at Advanced Integration Technology (AIT). As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for maintaining, testing, and repairing electrical, electronic, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems and components.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Start up and shut down equipment in accordance with operational requirements, company safety procedures, and OSHA regulations.
  • Provide technical support on PLCs and network interfaces throughout the manufacturing floor.
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical equipment, including PLCs, numerical controls, power supplies, drives, gauges/HMI, and test equipment.
  • Receive wiring diagrams, drawings, specifications, and instructions for emergency and scheduled repair, installation, and inspection work.
  • Plan and execute working procedures to determine material or replacement needs and develop logical approaches to repair problems.
  • Service electronic equipment by checking, testing, and replacing faulty components, circuit modules, printed circuit boards, and similar electronic devices.
  • Perform plant-wide electronic and electrical maintenance, making operating adjustments as required.
  • Develop programs and documents for training and knowledge transfer in all aspects of control systems.
  • Maintain and install communication cables, power distribution cables, and wiring, and perform splicing as required.
  • Promote and comply with good safety practices and habits, including the use of personal protective equipment.
  • Perform all duties in a safe and collaborative manner and immediately report any potentially dangerous conditions or other safety concerns to the supervisor.
  • Interface with other departments and personnel to analyze and supply information to achieve processing and manufacturing requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Technician certification or associate's degree in a related field is required.
  • Five or more years of experience in PLC and HMI configuration and programming, control circuit analysis, design, troubleshooting, and solving software/hardware issues in an industrial high-voltage electrical maintenance environment is preferred.
  • A thorough knowledge of electrical and electronic components and equipment, including the use of special instruments for diagnostic purposes, is necessary.
  • Proficient computer experience and PLC programming are required.
  • Working knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanical systems is necessary.

Work Environment:

The successful candidate will work in a production and office environment with a temperature-controlled environment. The position requires the ability to work 4:30 pm to 1:30 am, with night shift premium offered ($2/hr). Overtime may be necessary for meeting deadlines, required travel, and emergent conditions.

Travel Requirements:

The position may involve travel up to 10% of the time, with remote work possible.

Physical Demands:

The successful candidate must be able to ascend or descend ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles, and the like, using feet and legs and/or hands and arms. Medium work that includes moving objects up to 50 pounds is required.
