Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Junior Ground Support Equipment Mechanic to join our team at Daifuku Automotive America Corporation. As a Junior Ground Support Equipment Mechanic, you will assist in the maintenance and repair of ground support equipment and facilities, working closely with senior-level mechanics to ensure the highest level of quality and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the maintenance and repair of ground support equipment and facilities, including but not limited to, automotive, electrical, and systems-related tasks.
  • Work under the guidance and supervision of senior-level mechanics, accepting training and mentoring to develop your skills and knowledge.
  • Read and interpret repair manuals, electrical and hydraulic schematics, and supervisor/manager instructions to ensure accurate and efficient work.
  • Work in tight and/or high spaces, utilizing personal protective equipment (PPE) and fall protection equipment as required.
  • Follow and comply with all company and federally established policies and procedures, including safety protocols and regulations.
  • Utilize a computer to perform various communications, training, and administrative tasks.
  • Complete forms related to work assignments according to established procedures.
  • Participate in all safety training as assigned by the Company.
  • Comply with all ELS safety programs, policies, and procedures.
  • Perform additional duties and assignments as required by management.
Requirements
  • High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED)
  • Must have a set of hand tools common to the trade
  • Ability to work a non-traditional schedule, including weekends and holidays
  • 1 year of previous experience as a mechanic in a heavy, medium, or light-duty environment
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous work experience in an airport environment
  • Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures related to equipment repair
  • Knowledge of general workplace safety requirements and procedures
  • Technical certification in automotive repair

Computer Skills

Basic computer knowledge, including logging in, retrieving, and answering emails, and taking training.

  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain an Airport Security badge
  • Must have and maintain a valid driver's license and be insurable under the Company's insurance policy
  • Must be able to comply with the ELS Drug and Alcohol policy
