We are seeking a skilled Mechanic to join our team at Daifuku Automotive America Corporation. As a Mechanic, you will be responsible for assisting with the maintenance and repair of ground support equipment and facilities.
Key Responsibilities- Assist with scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and repair of ground support equipment and facilities.
- Execute basic maintenance assignments involving automotive, electrical, systems, and other related trade skill sets.
- Take direction and seek guidance from senior level mechanics, and accept training and mentoring from them.
- Read and interpret repair manuals, basic electrical and hydraulic schematics, and supervisor/manager's instructions.
- Work in tight and/or high spaces, utilizing appropriate PPE and fall protection equipment.
- Follow and comply with all company and federally established policies and procedures.
- Utilize a computer to perform various communications, training, and administrative processes.
- Complete forms connected with work assignments according to established procedures.
- Complete all safety training as assigned by the Company.
- Comply with all ELS safety programs, policies, and procedures.
- Perform additional duties/assignments as required by management.
- High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED).
- Must have own set of hand tools common to the trade.
- Ability to work a non-traditional schedule, including weekends and holidays.
- 1 year previous experience as a mechanic in a heavy, medium, or light duty environment.
- Previous work experience in an Airport environment.
- Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures related to equipment repair.
- Knowledge of general workplace safety requirements and procedures.
- Technical certification in automotive repair field.
- Ability to accept responsibility and account for actions.
- Ability to use thinking and reasoning to solve problems.
- Ability to take care of customer needs while following company procedures.
- Ability to demonstrate conduct conforming to a set of values and accepted standards.
- Ability to focus on a goal and obtain a pre-determined result.
- Ability to formulate a sound decision using available information.
- Ability to effectively build relationships with customers and co-workers.
- Possess the trait of being organized or following a systematic method of performing a task.
