Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and repair of ground support equipment and facilities.
  • Execute basic maintenance assignments involving automotive, electrical, systems, and other related trade skill sets.
  • Take direction and seek guidance from senior level mechanics, and accept training and mentoring from them.
  • Read and interpret repair manuals, basic electrical and hydraulic schematics, and supervisor/manager's instructions.
  • Work in tight and/or high spaces, utilizing appropriate PPE and fall protection equipment.
  • Follow and comply with all company and federally established policies and procedures.
  • Utilize a computer to perform various communications, training, and administrative processes.
  • Complete forms connected with work assignments according to established procedures.
  • Complete all safety training as assigned by the Company.
  • Comply with all ELS safety programs, policies, and procedures.
  • Perform additional duties/assignments as required by management.
Requirements
  • High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED).
  • Must have own set of hand tools common to the trade.
  • Ability to work a non-traditional schedule, including weekends and holidays.
  • 1 year previous experience as a mechanic in a heavy, medium, or light duty environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous work experience in an Airport environment.
  • Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures related to equipment repair.
  • Knowledge of general workplace safety requirements and procedures.
  • Technical certification in automotive repair field.
