Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Supervision
    • Provide strong leadership to the Sanitation team to achieve full plant compliance with all personnel safety, food safety, and quality guidelines.
    • Meet or exceed guidelines as they pertain to the facility equipment and industry standards for sanitation and SQF.
  • Sanitation and Quality Control
    • Ensure compliance to all local, state, and federal food manufacturing sanitation requirements.
    • Responsible for supervising all sanitation and janitorial staff.
    • Maintain good working relationships with all employees.
  • Facility Management
    • Adhere to and enforce Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), HACCP, FSMA and SQF requirements.
    • Maintain facility Integrated Pest Management (IPM) Program.
    • Oversee facility fumigation activities.
    • Liaise with contracted pest control and chemical companies.
  • Employee Development and Training
    • Provide solutions and promote teamwork amongst the various groups such as production, maintenance, and quality.
    • Ensure safety compliance with all chemical dilution, titration, and use.
    • Monitor, review, and suggest/direct initiatives for continuous improvement in all areas of operations.
    • Champion a culture of food sanitation. Train employees on proper sanitation and chemical use, dispersal, and disposal.
  • Performance Management
    • Review employee performance and assist in employee development.
    • Observe equipment throughout facility and reports concerns to maintenance staff.
    • Give feedback on a routine basis to all employees.
  • Compliance and Regulatory
    • Administer supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the company's policies and applicable laws, including interviewing, hiring and training employees; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
    • Develop strong partnership with plant management, quality, maintenance, and engineering.
  • Additional Responsibilities
    • Perform other related duties as assigned.
    • Able to work any shift required, including weekends and holidays as applicable.
    Requirements
    • Bachelor's degree in food science, Chemistry, or equivalent required Qualified Applicator License (QAL) for the state of California preferred.
    • Must have 3 years of Sanitation supervisory and leadership experience preferred.
