We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Orthodontic Assistant/Registered Dental Assistant to join our team at Smile Island Pediatric and Adult Dental Group. As a key member of our dental care team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our dentists and orthodontists in delivering top-notch treatment.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist Dentists and Orthodontists: Provide support during examinations, treatments, and procedures, ensuring a smooth and efficient patient experience.
  • Patient Care: Deliver exceptional patient care, including greeting patients, preparing them for treatment, and ensuring their comfort and well-being throughout the visit.
  • Record Keeping: Accurately record treatment information, patient medical and dental history, and other relevant data in patient records.
  • Instrument Preparation: Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and tray setups for dental procedures, maintaining a clean and organized environment.
  • Sterilization and Disinfection: Sterilize and disinfect instruments and equipment, adhering to strict infection control protocols.
  • Photography and Imaging: Utilize pano, cephs, iTero, and other approved photography tools to capture high-quality images for patient records and treatment planning.
Requirements:
  • Qualifications: Minimum 1 year of experience as an RDA or OA in an orthodontic practice, with a passion for working with children and families.
  • Skills: Excellent customer service skills, strong communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Availability: Must be available to work a full-time schedule, 5 days per week (Monday-Friday), or a part-time schedule, 3 days per week (Mondays, Tuesdays, and Fridays).

Physical Requirements:
  • Physical Demands: Prolonged periods of standing, leaning, and bending, with the ability to lift up to 15 pounds.
  • Vision and Dexterity: Close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus, with dexterity of arms, hands, and fingers to handle dental tools.
