Nursing Supervisor

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Nursing Supervisor to join our team at Hackensack Meridian Health. As a key member of our nursing department, you will be responsible for coordinating staffing, supporting throughput, quality and safety outcomes, staff competency, hiring, clinical and staff corrective actions, unit efficiency, quality care and other departmental activities to support the mission, vision and values of Hackensack Meridian Health.
Key Responsibilities- Participate in recruitment and retention strategies to attract and retain top nursing talent.
- Assist with unit huddles and leader rounding with employees to promote open communication and collaboration.
- Participate in unit goal creation that aligns with hospital goals and the mission and vision of Hackensack Meridian Health.
- Participate or lead evidenced-based practice projects or research to improve patient outcomes.
- Participate or lead unit-based or hospital-based shared governance committees or councils to promote collaboration and decision-making.
- Resolve conflicts and facilitate constructive resolutions and positive outcomes.
- Complete employee corrective action plans/counseling as necessary.
- Adhere to HMH's Organizational and Managerial competencies and standards of behavior.
- Prepare and conduct periodic performance evaluations to assigned staff members.
- Contribute to and/or monitor the unit orientation process of all roles as necessary.
- Participate with and model the importance of employee recognition.
- Model cultural competence, social justice and fairness, and capitalize on generational diversity to foster highly effective work groups.
- Escalate nursing labor/management issues as necessary.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
- Minimum 2 years recent nursing experience in respective specialty or equivalent.
- National Certification acceptable to the Magnet Recognition Program and appropriate to your current specialty (within two years of hire).
- MSN
- Supervisory or charge nurse experience
- NJ State Professional Registered Nurse License
- AHA Basic Health Care Life Support HCP Certification
