Position Summary

The Manufacturing Operations Leader at Hubbell is tasked with managing the everyday functions of production facilities and their workforce. This role involves strategizing and directing all operational processes at the site in alignment with corporate and business unit standards, policies, and objectives. Collaborating with Corporate Business Partners from various departments such as Finance, Human Resources, and Quality Assurance is essential to ensure compliance with established business practices. The Manufacturing Operations Leader will also oversee multiple site locations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure a safe and healthy working environment for all personnel and contribute positively to the community as an environmental steward.
  • Oversee multiple physical sites within the same geographic region and manage activities through remote site leadership.
  • Implement strategies to achieve or surpass all corporate goals including shipments, conversion costs, and inventory management.
  • Report directly to the Director of Operations while also taking direction from other senior corporate leaders.
  • Guarantee compliance with all relevant standards including company policies, governmental regulations, and industry benchmarks.
  • Foster a productive work environment and maintain effective communication processes to engage all facility members.
  • Collaborate with Business Partners across different functions to manage the facility while achieving individual team objectives.
  • Promote the adoption of the Hubbell Production System (Lean) as a fundamental practice within the facility.
  • Develop, execute, and monitor proactive plans aimed at enhancing organizational performance.
  • Drive operational enhancements to optimize resource utilization and maximize the value of capital investments.
  • Assess staffing needs and recommend appropriate personnel to meet facility objectives.
  • Coordinate efforts across all functional areas to ensure alignment with facility goals related to Safety, Quality, Delivery, Productivity, and Inventory.
  • Maintain flexibility to support the facility across all shifts.
  • Assist in budget preparation and develop metrics to track performance against budgetary targets.
  • Achieve favorable quality outcomes through effective management of the facility's quality program.
  • Engage in cross-functional collaboration within a matrix organization, working with Corporate Quality, Safety, Finance, HR, Supply Chain, and Continuous Improvement teams.
  • Monitor, report, and take necessary actions based on critical operational metrics.

Required Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Operations, Engineering, or a related field, with a minimum of 5 years of management experience in a manufacturing or operations setting. Alternatively, eight years of relevant experience may substitute for a four-year degree, provided core skills have been acquired through college-level coursework.

Preferred Skills:

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, across all organizational levels.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and other PC applications; familiarity with SAP is advantageous.
  • Effective problem-solving abilities, including timely identification and resolution of issues.
