At dnata catering U.S., we are committed to attracting top talent and fostering their professional growth through comprehensive training and mentorship. We are currently seeking a Purchasing Coordinator I (Food & Beverage) to become a vital part of our team.
As a Purchasing Coordinator I (Food & Beverage), your key duties will include the preparation and management of purchase orders, ensuring timely approvals, and tracking the receipt of goods and services. You will also be responsible for monitoring inventory levels, coordinating deliveries, and ensuring that the necessary materials are requested for kitchen operations. Your role will encompass maintaining organized records, advising on inventory management, and providing specialized administrative support.

Your Responsibilities:
- Prepare, monitor, and expedite purchase orders while ensuring all approvals are obtained.
- Implement effective systems and procedures for product cost management.
- Oversee the inventory of uniforms, personal protective equipment (PPE), pantry supplies, and operational materials.
- Coordinate delivery schedules for stock items.
- Engage with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of essential products.
- Record receiving transactions in our software systems promptly.
- Investigate and resolve any accounting discrepancies.
- Support the three-way matching process in collaboration with stakeholders and the Accounts Payable team.
- Maintain accurate and accessible documentation.
- Perform specialized administrative tasks as required.
- Ensure compliance with all local and national regulations as well as dnata policies.
- Execute additional responsibilities as assigned by management.
Compensation: The salary for this position is competitive and influenced by the candidate's experience and qualifications.
Qualifications:
Education: A bachelor’s degree or one year of relevant experience in purchasing and sourcing.
Preferred Skills:
- Strong documentation and organizational skills.
- Experience in customer service is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Experience in food and beverage purchasing is highly desirable.
- Background in food manufacturing or inflight catering is advantageous.

Success in this role requires a commitment to precision, the ability to multitask under pressure, and a strong focus on detail. Candidates should demonstrate consistent attendance and punctuality, taking responsibility for their actions and completing tasks in a timely manner.
Physical Requirements:
This position involves regular standing, walking, reaching, and occasional lifting of up to 30 pounds. Adherence to safety and security protocols is essential.
Work Environment:
The role is primarily conducted indoors, with noise levels varying from minimal to loud.
