EHS Coordinator

The EHS Coordinator is a vital position within the plant, responsible for monitoring all safety procedures and activities. This role requires strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to multi-task and maintain a high level of ethicacy.
Key Responsibilities- Implement improvements to safety in the plant using knowledge of plant operations, specific safety issues, regulations, and Corporate practices.
- Lead and participate in safety teams and programs to ensure completion of facility safety plan.
- Act as a resource and provide leadership during emergencies and special projects.
- Monitor, follow up, and ensure completion of corrective actions for entries into the Incident Reporting System.
- Maintain existing safety programs, systems, processes, and documentation.
- Conduct safety and environmental audits and trend analysis to ensure safety parameters are understood.
- Conduct incident and near miss investigations with the assistance of the Gresham EHS Leader.
- Provide safety training facilitation and/or method/procedure adherence.
- Coordinate and communicate safety issues with plant personnel and perform safety equipment inspections and initiate repair processes as needed.
- Ensure safety standards and regulations are being met and followed.
- Ensure environmental standards and regulations are being met and followed.
- Act as management and a regulatory liaison.
- Train-the-Trainer qualified in job-specific areas as necessary.
- Promote the well-being of an injury-free life for all employees.
- Ability to work flexible hours to cover multiple shifts and departments.
- Regular attendance on site and the ability to work varying or rotating shifts.
- Exposure to hot/cold temperature- continuously.
- Exposure to noise- continuously.
- Lifting/carrying/moving up to 50 pounds.
- Twisting and Bending - occasionally.
- Sitting- occasionally.
- Walking - occasionally.
- Hand/Eye Coordination- frequently.
- Standing- frequently.
