About the Role

UT Southwestern Medical Center is seeking a highly skilled Radiation Safety Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Radiation Safety Program, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe use of radioactive materials and radiation-producing equipment across our medical center, university hospitals, and associated clinics.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive radiation safety program, including training and auditing to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Provide radiation safety support for clinical radiopharmaceutical therapies, management of radioactive materials packages, and emergency response.
  • Conduct inspections and surveys to identify potential safety hazards and ensure adherence to safety regulations and procedures.
  • Collaborate with staff and faculty from other departments to provide technical assistance and support.
Requirements

We are seeking a candidate with a strong background in safety-related fields, preferably with a bachelor's degree and two years of directly related safety experience. Professional certification in a specific safety specialty is preferred. Pertinent military experience may also be considered.
