Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant to join our team at St. Vincent Health. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing direct and indirect patient care in collaboration with our health center clinical team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with ensuring quality payment metrics are met.
  • Act as a liaison between the hospital and local/consulting provider offices to foster cooperative relationships and problem solve issues regarding the clinic.
  • Demonstrate effective use of clinical strategies to ensure patient and team member safety.
  • Accurately and timely document all tasks, observations, and procedures performed in the patient record according to medical and legal standards.
  • Maintain thorough and confidential patient charts and records.
  • Communicate with colleagues and allied personnel regarding patient care to maintain continuity of care between departments and care providers.
  • Facilitate room turnover between patients, stocking, and exchanging supplies in the RHC.
  • Ensure RHC work environment and patient rooms are neat and free of clutter.
  • Effectively use time, personnel, equipment, and supplies to provide high-quality, cost-effective patient care and monitoring.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
  • One year healthcare experience (pre-hospital, ED, and/or patient care) preferred.
  • Basic computer skills: Word, Excel, required.
  • Medical Assisting Certification, required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Familiarity with electronic medical records systems and basic management software preferred.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
Competencies and Annual Requirements
  • Annual Family Health CENTER, HOSPITAL & JOB SPECIFIC Skills Competencies.
  • Compliance with all Hospital Employee Health requirements including INFLUENZA VACCINE and other vaccinations as required by policy.
