Key Responsibilities- Establish and execute periodic audits of existing HR policies to ensure remediation of potential compliance issues.
- Conduct regular audits and assessments of HR processes, documentation, and practices to identify areas of non-compliance or potential risk.
- Develop and implement compliance testing or auditing procedures in collaboration with internal counsel and senior leadership.
- Implement audit/monitoring processes across the Human Resource function to ensure ongoing periodic review of existing and new processes.
- Facilitate changes in procedures and/or systems to support federal, state, and municipal or other jurisdictional requirements.
- Partner with internal counsel to monitor changes in employment laws, regulations, and industry standards to ensure our policies and practices remain compliant.
- Provide guidance on risk management practices to relevant stakeholders on the HR team.
- Develop policies, practices, and procedures that have a significant impact on the organization.
- Oversee the development of compliance-related training sessions on HR compliance requirements, ethical standards, and best practices.
- Drive initiatives that address regulatory requirements aligned with team member life cycle events, including recruiting, onboarding, team member development, team member experience, and off-boarding.
- Manage document retention compliance and workflows.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records related to HR Compliance activities.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Risk Management, or a related field.
- 5 years of experience supporting Human Resources and related systems and/or employment law matters.
- 3 years of experience devising HR compliance strategies and increasing the knowledge level of other key stakeholders through training and presentations.
- Ability to determine data needed and understand the sensitive nature of the information being requested and shared.
- Demonstrated knowledge of HR monitoring in the areas of compensation, benefits, and other employment practices, as well as federal and multi-state employment laws.
- Ability to distill abstract concepts into clear, simple terms coupled with effective advice.
- 2 years of experience in HR compliance, Internal Audit, employment law, or a related field.
- Human Resources background with audit experience.
- Understanding of HR systems from a compliance perspective.
- Experienced in creating standard operating procedures and process documents for testing Human Capital Management systems.
