Job Overview

The Shipping Team Leader is responsible for providing direction, mentorship, and effective communication to ensure client satisfaction and operational efficiency. This role is under the supervision of the Shipping Supervisor.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate flexibility in work hours and foster a collaborative shipping team environment.
  • Manage the activities of all personnel within the shipping department.
  • Interpret daily and weekly production schedules to meet operational goals.
  • Assign tasks to team members as necessary while upholding cleanliness and organization in the workspace.
  • Exhibit strong multitasking abilities and prioritize tasks effectively for both self and team.
  • Understand and uphold the Marsh Quality Standards relevant to shipping operations, addressing any quality concerns promptly.
  • Maintain required certifications for all company roles and safety training pertinent to this position.
  • Guide the team in adhering to safety protocols within the shipping department.
  • Possess strong organizational skills to manage a variety of responsibilities.
  • Be physically capable of bending, stooping, reaching, walking, lifting, and pushing as required.
  • Ensure proper loading and closing procedures for trucks are followed.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED is preferred.
  • A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience as a team leader in a manufacturing setting is preferred.
  • At least 3 years of experience operating forklifts.
