Job Description

The role of Process Optimization Specialist involves establishing, maintaining, and improving manufacturing processes and systems to reduce cost, improve sustainability, and develop best practices. Key responsibilities include organizing, implementing, and maintaining production processes, developing assembly instructions, workmanship standards, and process documents, ensuring they are followed, continually improving existing operations for increased quality, productivity, efficiency, and cost savings, conducting root cause analysis and proposing corrective actions for continuous improvement and resolutions to manufacturing problems, liaising with production planner/scheduler to ensure the released assemblies have adequate programs, documentation, and processes, providing manufacturing data to monitor and measure progress to target, working with design engineering on DFX (design for excellence), liaising with suppliers on manufacturing processes, researching and justifying new manufacturing technology to reduce costs, improve quality, and increase capacity, programming manufacturing and inspection equipment.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Advanced knowledge of circuit card manufacturing and assembly processes together with work measurement and work standards.
  • Intermediate knowledge in Lean Manufacturing and Design of Experiments.
  • Knowledge of IPC-A-610 and J-STD-001.
  • Technical writing and documentation skills.
  • Analytical skills including research, trend analysis, data analysis, and presentation of data through charts and graphs.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, job orders, specifications, drawings, schematics, process sheets, wiring diagrams, and small print.
  • Advanced level in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Outlook).
  • Ability to effectively communicate in all forms with others inside and outside the organization.
  • Ability to plan, resolve problems effectively, and establish priorities.
  • Ability to multitask efficiently and adapt within a rapidly changing environment.
