Salary Range

$75,000—$110,000 per year, depending on candidate experience and certifications.

Job Description

">

The Construction Operations Manager will oversee project operations at the regional office or jobsite, driving project objectives by planning, scheduling, and executing project activities throughout each phase to completion.

  • Comply with all WPI policies, procedures, and corporate safety program.
  • Participate actively in the safety plans and measures of assigned projects.
  • Manage projects from start to finish.
  • Review contract language, scope of work, and special provisions in the contract.
  • Coordinate materials, equipment, and vendors.
  • Prepare RFI's, submittals, and shop drawings.
  • Clear understanding of building systems and their relation to the building process.
  • Develop and coordinate construction project schedules.
  • Support job sites, participate in, and conduct job meetings as required.
  • Promptly address price change requests and update budgets.
  • Prepare, review, and report weekly productions.
  • Review weekly job cost reports with project Foreman and team.
  • Approve invoices for payment.
  • Track progress and spending, ensuring work completion on time and within budget.
  • Create and implement job schedules, coordinating with field supervisors and foremen.
  • Perform labor control, including setup and maintenance, to maximize profits.
  • Coordinate warranties, O&M's, and closeout on projects.
  • Complete and be accountable for job cost control measures through monthly Financial Projections.
  • Provide leadership throughout construction project development.

Required Skills and Qualifications

">

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

">
  • At least 2 years of Construction Project Management work experience.
  • Experience with estimating/project management/managing specialty scopes of construction.
  • Ability to diagnose and process key information, recognize critical areas on the job impacting profitability, and navigate the project away from risks and liabilities.
  • A clear understanding of specifications and drawings.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook), Bluebeam, OnScreen Takeoff, QuickBid, and critical path method scheduling software like Microsoft Project.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Ability to multitask, think critically, and problem-solve.
  • Capacity to learn new job skills and apply them as taught.
  • Must be able to work independently, make decisions, and follow through on assignments.
  • High level of competency in reading, writing, and speaking English, interpreting construction-related documentation, and communicating with coworkers.
