We are seeking a skilled and attentive Server to join our team at Humble Spirit, a wine country restaurant in historic downtown McMinnville, Oregon. As a Server, you will be responsible for creating an exceptional dining experience for our guests by providing personalized service, navigating menu offerings, and delivering an unparalleled service experience.
Key Responsibilities- Guest Service: Guide our guests throughout their dining experience by providing specific suggestions, daily specials, and house-made dessert selections.
- Order Taking and Service: Takes orders and serves food and beverage items to guests in accordance with established standards.
- Food and Beverage Preparation: Assembles food items, such as appetizers, salads, and soups, and ensures attractive, consistent presentation of food and beverages.
- Cleanliness and Organization: Maintain a clean and organized section, including setting up and breaking down tables, clearing and marking tables for next courses, and readying the restaurant for the next shift.
- Knowledge and Communication: Maintain current knowledge of food and beverage offerings, including menu changes and sold-out items, and communicate effectively with the kitchen and bar staff to ensure seamless service.
- Payment Processing: Process guest payments, using proper accounting and cash handling procedures.
- Excellent Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills and a positive attitude are essential for this role.
- Attention to Detail: Attention to detail is crucial in ensuring that all food and beverage items are served at the correct temperature and that the dining area is clean and organized.
- Technical Skills: Ability to perform essential functions on the computerized Point of Sale system and working knowledge of dining and beverage service procedures.
- Liquor Laws and Regulations: Working knowledge of applicable liquor laws and regulations.
- Teamwork and Flexibility: Be a team player and be flexible with duties and responsibilities.
- Personal Qualities: Humility, patience, and resilience are essential qualities for this role.
- Previous Experience: 2 years of previous experience as a Server in a similar restaurant environment is required.
- Wine and Cocktail Knowledge: Wine and cocktail knowledge is preferred.
- Licenses and Permits: Necessary State Food Handler's License(s) and Liquor Serving Permit(s) are required.
