Key Responsibilities:
  • Document EKG rhythms, measurements, and changes in patient records.
  • Conduct daily checks to ensure telemetry equipment is operational and accounted for.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with the primary RN, articulating wave patterns using appropriate medical terminology.
  • Assist RNs with troubleshooting lead wires, electrode and battery changes, and ensuring proper lead placement for optimal telemetry monitoring.
  • Monitor and record physiological data, including obtaining six-second strips as indicated by patient condition.
  • Maintain and sanitize equipment and supplies.
  • Support Code Blues, cardioversion, and pacemaker reprogramming by providing monitor strips as necessary.
  • Notify BioMed of any equipment malfunctions promptly.
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including patients, visitors, RNs, and physicians.
  • Collaborate with supervisors, peers, and other departments, demonstrating our commitment to excellent service.

Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Telemetry Certification or willingness to obtain certification.
  • CPR/BLS certification required.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology is preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Associate's degree in a related field.
  • One year of experience in a specialty area with rhythm recognition skills.
