Key Responsibilities

  • Attend roll call meetings to learn about event details and guest expectations.
  • Greet guests warmly and respond to their requests in a friendly and courteous manner.
  • Serve food and beverages in a timely and efficient manner, ensuring consistency throughout the banquet.
  • Act as a bartender as qualified and maintain a safe and responsible service environment.
  • Assist with functions off-site as needed and maintain a professional appearance at all times.
  • Abide by all state, federal, and corporate requirements related to serving alcoholic beverages and maintaining OSHA food safety standards.
  • Set up meeting rooms to guest specifications, including transporting heavy materials and equipment safely.
  • Supply and replenish meeting rooms with clean glasses and fresh water.
  • Break down meeting rooms after events and return items to storage closets.
  • Maintain a clean and presentable environment in meeting rooms and ballrooms.
  • Comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis.

Requirements

  • Self-starting personality with an even disposition.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and manner at all times.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy objects, including tables, chairs, and equipment.
  • Basic knowledge of food and beverage preparations, service standards, and guest relations.
  • Knowledge of table settings and service ware.
  • Ability to comprehend and apply written product labeling instructions.
  • Ability to remember and recite menu items.

Licenses and Certifications

  • Oregon Food Handler's Permit.
  • Oregon Liquor Control Commission Server's Permit.
