Key Responsibilities- Classroom Culture: Establish a positive and respectful classroom culture that promotes high expectations and high support for all scholars.
- Inclusive Practices: Implement inclusive practices that celebrate diversity, equity, and inclusion, and promote a culture of antiracism in the classroom and school community.
- Curriculum Implementation: Plan and prepare for effective implementation of a coherent, research-based curriculum that meets the needs of all scholars.
- Assessment and Data Analysis: Develop and use a variety of assessment data to refine curricula and instructional practice, and drive student growth and achievement.
- Communication and Collaboration: Maintain strong relationships with scholars, families, and colleagues through effective and frequent communication, and collaborate with department and grade-level teams to improve instructional practice.
- Professional Development: Engage in ongoing professional development to improve teaching practice and stay current with best practices in English Language Arts education.
- Social-Emotional Learning: Cultivate the social-emotional well-being of all scholars by building a positive classroom culture that promotes social-emotional learning and character development.
- Civic Engagement: Foster a life of active citizenship for all scholars through the implementation of age-appropriate conversations and activities centered on current events, community service, and civic engagement.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in English Language Arts or a related field.
- Experience: 2 years of teaching experience in urban areas, with a preference for experience in high school English Language Arts.
- Certification: State certification in English Language Arts or a related field.
