Job Summary

RPS Recruitment is seeking an experienced Structures Engineering Manager to join our team. As a key member of our engineering department, you will be responsible for ensuring the structural integrity, compliance, and safety of our aircraft modifications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and lead a team of design and stress analysts
  • Provide engineering direction and oversight for conceptual design development through project completion
  • Review and ensure accuracy and completeness of engineering designs, including drawings and reports, in compliance with regulatory and commercial requirements
  • Interface with the Director of Certification to support Supplemental Type Certificates and other regulatory or commercial programs
  • Coordinate and monitor consulting engineers and/or companies utilized to support engineering projects
  • Coordinate engineering department resources to support company engineering requirements
  • Serve as the technical point of contact for engineering projects
  • Align team strengths to deliver on key performance indicators: Safety, Customer Satisfaction, Schedule, Budget, and Team Development
  • Drive change through goal setting, rewards, and accountability
  • Establish staff work assignments
  • Report to the Vice President, Engineering or other designated senior manager
Requirements
  • Familiarity with aircraft engineering resources such as MMPDS, Bruhn, Roark, etc.
  • Working knowledge of typical aircraft structure, including materials, processes, hardware, and composites
  • Familiarity with both airframe modifications and new airframe design
  • Thorough knowledge of 14 CFR Part 23 & 25 designs, construction, and structures regulations
  • Excellent communication skills, fluent in English (spoken and written), and proficient in MS Word and Excel
  • Ability to lead the engineering staff and work well with upper and lower employees and management

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor of Science, Aerospace, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering
  • Master of Science or equivalent experience preferred; Master of Business Administration a plus
  • Minimum of 15 years of aircraft structural substantiation experience, including Finite Element Analysis (NASTRAN FEMAP), traditional hand calculations, and report writing
