Job Summary

Johnson Regional Medical Center is seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse/Licensed Practical Nurse to join our Inpatient Rehabilitation team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide direct and indirect patient care, communicating effectively with physicians, nurse managers, and coworkers to ensure seamless care delivery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform head-to-toe assessments on patients and reassess as needed, considering geriatric and general patient populations.
  • Assess and manage patient pain, utilizing appropriate pain management techniques and educating patients and families on pain management.
  • Develop and revise patient care plans based on patient response to treatment and evaluate overall plan effectiveness daily.
  • Perform waived testing (point-of-care testing) according to Clinical Laboratory and resident care unit policies and procedures.
  • Interpret test results and take appropriate action.
  • Provide patient care considering the standard of care for patients of all ages.
  • Administer medications correctly based on patient age and clinical condition, adhering to the seven medication rights to minimize medication errors.
  • Develop and implement teaching plans based on identified learning needs, involving family members as appropriate.
  • Assist physicians with procedures and perform services requiring technical and manual skills.
  • Provide treatments and services within the scope of licensure.
  • Treat patients and families with respect and dignity, addressing psychosocial, cultural, ethnic, and religious/spiritual needs.
  • Function as a liaison between administration, patients, physicians, and other healthcare providers.
  • Interact professionally with patients and families, involving them in the formation of the plan of care.
  • Provide age-appropriate care to patients, interpreting data to identify specific needs and provide necessary care.
  • Ensure patient safety and reduce the likelihood of medical/healthcare errors.
  • Support and maintain a culture of safety and quality.
  • Consult other departments as needed for an interdisciplinary approach to patient care.
  • Communicate effectively with nurse managers, coworkers, and physicians.
  • Maintain a good working relationship within the department and with other departments.
  • Identify and address psychosocial needs of patients and families, communicating with Social Service/Discharge Planner as necessary.
  • Document patient care according to current standards and policies.
  • Operate equipment safely and correctly.
  • Coordinate and supervise patient care as needed.
  • Demonstrate flexibility, organization, and ability to function under stressful situations.
Requirements
  • Professional Requirements:
  • Adhere to dress code and maintain a neat and clean appearance.
  • Complete annual education requirements.
  • Maintain regulatory requirements, including federal, state, local regulations, and accrediting organization standards.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
  • Report to work on time and complete work within designated time.
  • Wear identification while on duty and use the computerized punch time system correctly.
  • Complete inservices and return in a timely fashion.
  • Attend annual review and department inservices as scheduled.
  • Attend 12 staff meetings annually or read and return monthly staff meeting minutes.
  • Represent the organization in a positive and professional manner.
  • Actively participate in performance improvement and continuous quality improvement (CQI) activities.
  • Comply with all organizational policies regarding ethical business practices.
  • Communicate the mission, ethics, and goals of the hospital, as well as the focus statement of the department.
  • Regulatory Requirements:
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Current state Registered Nurse Licensure within the state of practice.
  • Graduate of an accredited LPN program.
  • Current LPN licensure within the state of Arkansas.
  • Current BLS certification.
  • Language Skills:
  • Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Additional languages preferred.
  • Skills:
  • Basic computer knowledge.
  • Physical Demands:
  • Mobility, sight, hearing, verbal communication, changes in temperature, exposure to disagreeable elements, exposure to biological, mechanical, electrical, and chemical hazards.
  • Frequent standing and walking.
  • Lift up to 100 pounds.
  • Carrying up to 40 pounds.
  • Pushing/pulling up to 450 pounds.
