Surgical Care Specialist

At NYC Health + Hospitals, we are committed to delivering high-quality care to our patients. As a Surgical Care Specialist, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our surgical services.
Responsibilities include:
- Preparing patients for examination and assisting medical providers during procedures
- Performing basic specimen screening testing and instructing patients on specimen collection
- Conducting vision and hearing testing, as well as simple urinalysis
- Maintaining patient charts and completing necessary paperwork
- Reporting observations to clinical staff and providing information to patients and their families
To be successful in this role, you will need to have completed a NYS Department of Health prescribed training program for Phlebotomy and a healthcare setting-based training program in electrocardiographs and basic life support procedures.
