As a critical care travel nurse, you will manage a diverse range of patients from neonates to geriatrics, including critical cases such as sepsis, DKA, and respiratory illnesses.
Responsibilities include:
- Performing triage to determine urgent care needs and prioritize patient treatment
- Working with a team that includes 24/7 physician and nurse practitioner coverage
- Collaborating with the hospitalist for admitted patients
- Utilizing EPIC for charting and managing medication and supplies using Omnicell and Alaris systems
Schedule includes variable shifts with potential weekend work based on staffing needs. Orientation includes facility orientation and emergency department-specific education.
Candidates should demonstrate strong critical thinking skills, be comfortable with all patient types, and exhibit excellent communication abilities. They must be willing to ask questions and prioritize patient care effectively.
