Job SummaryThe Direct Support Professional (DSP) plays a vital role in supporting individuals with developmental disabilities or related conditions. As an advocate, the DSP will work closely with the individual to identify their needs, goals, and preferences, and develop a personalized plan to support their independence and well-being.
Responsibilities- Assist individuals with daily living tasks, such as personal care, meal preparation, and housekeeping.
- Support individuals in their daily routines, including medication administration, transportation, and social activities.
- Provide emotional support and advocacy for individuals, promoting their dignity, respect, and autonomy.
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure seamless care and support.
- Document and report on individual progress, identifying areas for improvement and developing strategies for growth.
- Experience working in a residential setting or with individuals with developmental disabilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Basic computer skills and ability to learn new software.
- Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.

ABLE, Inc. provides ongoing training and support to ensure our DSPs have the skills and knowledge needed to provide high-quality care. This includes training on medication administration, behavior intervention, and person-centered care.
