We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Technologist to join our team at Northeast Georgia Health System, Inc. Key Responsibilities- Perform routine and stat testing in established time frames with minimal discrepancies.
- Analyze samples independently, adhering to established criteria and guidelines.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Consult with senior laboratory staff on questionable or unusual test results.
- Input data accurately into the laboratory information system.
- Contribute to quality improvement initiatives, suggesting process enhancements and best practices.
- Assist in the precepting of medical laboratory technology students, as assigned.
- Attend regular continuing education sessions to stay up-to-date on the latest laboratory techniques and technologies.
- Associate's degree in medical laboratory technology or related field.
- ASCP, NCA, or AMT certification (or equivalent).
- Minimum one year of laboratory experience (or equivalent).
- Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Two to three years of laboratory experience.
- Preferred certifications: ASCP, NCA, or AMT.
- Preferred educational background: Bachelor's degree in medical laboratory technology or related field.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, frequently.
- Ability to carry up to 20 pounds, occasionally.
- Good vision, frequently.
- Ability to kneel, stoop, or bend, occasionally.
- Ability to stand or walk, frequently.
- Ability to push or pull, occasionally.
