Join Maine Health as a Mental Health Technician and make a difference in the lives of adolescents struggling with mental health issues. Our 14-bed unit at Spring Harbor Hospital is designed to provide acute care and treatment for patients aged 12-20 who require a higher level of care due to their psychiatric symptoms. As a Mental Health Technician, you will play a vital role in supporting our patients and staff in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

**Key Responsibilities:**

* Develop a working knowledge of therapeutic interventions and interactions for common diagnoses of the population served.
* Maintain the unit schedule and facilitate timely transitions.
* Assist patients with Daily Living Skills (ADLs) as directed by an RN.

**What You Will Need:**

* High School diploma and equivalent experience preferred. Bachelor's degree in Psychology or Social Services preferred.
* No license or certification required.
* Previous experience in a mental health setting is not necessary, but a passion for helping others is essential.

**What You Will Do:**

* Conduct environmental rounds as assigned and remove any sharps or prohibited items.
* Facilitate milieu-based community groups and leisure/recreation groups.
* Accompany patients on transports as assigned.

**Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):**

* Education: High School diploma and equivalent experience preferred. Bachelor's degree in Psychology or Social Services preferred.
