Transforming Life Sciences R&D with AI

At ZS, we're passionate about harnessing the power of AI to drive life-changing impact in the life sciences industry. As a Data Science R&D AI Consultant, you'll play a key role in developing innovative AI solutions that accelerate discovery, clinical development, and medical affairs & evidence generation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Apply problem-solving, data, delivery, functional, and technology expertise to develop AI & data science solutions for problems across the life sciences R&D lifecycle.
  • Collaborate closely with clients and internal functional, data science, and data engineering colleagues at ZS to integrate and effectively communicate solutions that drive impact.
  • Participate in the development of ZS's thought leadership in AI-based solutions accelerating discovery, clinical development, medical affairs & evidence generation.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to associate and associate consultant team members.

Requirements:
  • Advanced degree (MS/PhD) in AI-related discipline or pharmaceutical development-related discipline (e.g., bioinformatics, biostatistics) plus 5+ years of relevant post-degree work experience.
  • Domain experience applying AI in the context of biomedical research and/or drug development and/or medical affairs and evidence generation.
  • Experience developing solutions for AI areas of interest (e.g., supervised and unsupervised ML, NLP, Generative AI, LLMs, reinforcement learning, graph-based learning, etc.) in industry and/or academic settings.
  • Experience presenting work at conferences and publishing.
  • Relevant programming experience (Python preferred).
  • Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • High motivation, good work ethic, and maturity.

Additional Skills:
  • Relevant domain knowledge encompassing areas such as life sciences, research & development, healthcare, health technology, or related expertise/experience.
