Job Summary

Turner Industries is seeking a skilled Combination Welder to join our team in Tuscaloosa, AL. As a key member of our maintenance and construction team, you will be responsible for assembling structural forms, such as tanks, pressure vessels, and furnace shells, using a variety of welding techniques.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lay out, fit, and weld fabricated, cast, and forged components to assemble structural forms
  • Select equipment and plan layout, assembly, and welding
  • Position, align, and fit components together, using bolts, clamps, and tack welds as needed
  • Set up equipment and weld parts, using a variety of welding processes, including arc, heliarc, gas, MIG, and TIG
  • Assemble parts by bolting and riveting, as required
  • Repair products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping, and reassembling parts
  • Use cutting torches to cut materials and demo existing assemblies
Requirements
  • Minimum four (4) years of experience in specified skill
  • Written pre-employment qualification test
  • Post-offer drug/alcohol screen and physical evaluation
  • Hazard Communication orientation/test
  • Turner Industries Group, LLC indoctrination
  • OSHA-approved corrective eye wear (Z87)
  • Job site orientation
  • Job site safety requirements, as required by the client
  • Safety equipment, as required by the client
  • Ability to work in a team and get along with others
  • Ability to learn new tasks and remember processes
Work Environment

As a Combination Welder with Turner Industries, you will work in a variety of environments, including industrial maintenance and construction sites, equipment yards, and fabrication shops. You will be exposed to extreme temperatures, humidity, and noise levels, as well as potential chemical substances.
