Position Overview:

The Maintenance Technician is tasked with the installation, troubleshooting, and repair of manufacturing processing and packaging machinery, as well as distribution systems. This role requires a comprehensive skill set in electrical, controls, and mechanical disciplines, enabling efficient and reliable plant operations with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair mechanical equipment and facilities while ensuring a safe and sanitary work environment.
  • Conduct emergency repairs during breakdown situations.
  • Be available for overtime and weekend shifts as necessary.
  • Adhere to all OSHA guidelines regarding work and safety protocols.
  • Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on all equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with all programs and maintain up-to-date documentation.
  • Write clear correspondence and complete manufacturing documentation accurately.
  • Disassemble and reassemble machine components and support equipment per manufacturer specifications.
  • Exhibit a professional demeanor and positive attitude in daily operations.

Food Safety and Quality Assurance:

Maintain food safety and quality standards by completing job tasks and keeping the work area sanitary. This includes wearing provided food safety and sanitation personal protective equipment (PPE) and adhering to personal hygiene regulations. Report any food safety issues to authorized personnel.

Qualifications:

  • Proficient knowledge of HVAC and refrigeration systems.
  • Ability to assess machinery and support equipment in a dairy facility.
  • Capability to read basic electrical schematics and mechanical blueprints.
  • Familiarity with hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Understanding of boiler operation and function.
  • 3-5 years of experience in maintenance or a related field.
  • Ability to perform TIG welding.
  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED).

Work Schedule:

This position involves a 12-hour shift from 6 AM to 6 PM, with every other weekend off:

  • Week 1: 48 hours
  • Week 2: 36 hours
