Position Overview: The Maintenance Technician role is pivotal in ensuring the installation, troubleshooting, and repair of manufacturing processing and packaging equipment, as well as distribution systems. This position requires a comprehensive understanding of various manufacturing skills across electrical, control, and mechanical disciplines, enabling efficient and reliable plant operations with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair mechanical equipment and facilities, contributing to the safe and sanitary production of all company products.
  • Conduct emergency repairs during breakdown situations.
  • Availability for overtime and weekend shifts as required.
  • Adhere to all OSHA guidelines regarding workplace safety.
  • Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on all equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with all programs and maintain current documentation.
  • Draft simple correspondence and complete manufacturing documentation accurately.
  • Disassemble and assemble machine components and support equipment according to manufacturer specifications.

Safety and Quality Assurance:

  • Uphold food safety and quality standards by maintaining a clean work area.
  • Wear provided food safety and sanitation personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Comply with personal hygiene regulations.
  • Report food safety issues to authorized personnel.
  • Ensure adherence to all programs and maintain up-to-date documentation.

Qualifications:

  • Proficient knowledge of HVAC and refrigeration systems.
  • Ability to assess machinery and support equipment in a dairy facility.
  • Familiarity with basic electrical schematics and mechanical blueprints.
  • Understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Knowledge of boiler operation and function.
  • 3-5 years of experience in maintenance or a related field.
  • Capability to perform TIG welding.
  • High school diploma or GED.

Work Schedule: This position operates on a 12-hour shift from 6 AM to 6 PM, with alternating weekends off.
