Position Overview: The Maintenance Technician role is pivotal in ensuring the installation, troubleshooting, and repair of manufacturing processing and packaging equipment, as well as distribution systems. This position requires a comprehensive understanding of various manufacturing skills across electrical, control, and mechanical disciplines, enabling efficient and reliable plant operations with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair mechanical equipment and facilities, contributing to the safe and sanitary production of all company products.
- Conduct emergency repairs during breakdown situations.
- Availability for overtime and weekend shifts as required.
- Adhere to all OSHA guidelines regarding workplace safety.
- Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on all equipment.
- Ensure compliance with all programs and maintain current documentation.
- Draft simple correspondence and complete manufacturing documentation accurately.
- Disassemble and assemble machine components and support equipment according to manufacturer specifications.
Safety and Quality Assurance:
- Uphold food safety and quality standards by maintaining a clean work area.
- Wear provided food safety and sanitation personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Comply with personal hygiene regulations.
- Report food safety issues to authorized personnel.
- Ensure adherence to all programs and maintain up-to-date documentation.
Qualifications:
- Proficient knowledge of HVAC and refrigeration systems.
- Ability to assess machinery and support equipment in a dairy facility.
- Familiarity with basic electrical schematics and mechanical blueprints.
- Understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Knowledge of boiler operation and function.
- 3-5 years of experience in maintenance or a related field.
- Capability to perform TIG welding.
- High school diploma or GED.
Work Schedule: This position operates on a 12-hour shift from 6 AM to 6 PM, with alternating weekends off.
