Job Summary

As a key member of the HD Supply team, you will be responsible for delivering merchandise to customers while adhering to all safety procedures. This includes loading inventory on a truck and unloading at the customer site.

Major Tasks, Responsibilities, and Key Accountabilities
  • Conduct routine inspections of vehicles and supplies to ensure road safety and compliance with company policies.
  • Plan and adjust routes to and from customers' businesses to optimize delivery times and minimize traffic congestion.
  • Verify that manifests are complete and accurate, and ensure that merchandise is delivered to the correct customers.
  • Provide excellent customer service by delivering merchandise to customers and resolving any issues that may arise.
  • Load and unload merchandise from trucks, and maintain accurate records of deliveries.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to resolve complex issues and ensure seamless delivery operations.
Nature and Scope
  • Work under general supervision, exercising judgment and initiative to resolve problems and make decisions in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers, colleagues, and other stakeholders to ensure successful delivery operations.
Work Environment
  • Work in a fast-paced environment with regular exposure to factors that may cause noticeable discomfort or a moderate risk of accident or illness, such as temperature extremes, moving machinery, loud noises, and fumes.
  • Requires intermittent periods of physical exertion, including walking, standing, stooping, climbing, lifting, and maneuvering material or equipment that may be heavy (50+ pounds) or awkward.
Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; specialized skills training or certification may be preferred.
  • Generally 2-5 years of experience in logistics, transportation, or a related field.
