Job Description

The Delivery Driver is responsible for delivering customer orders in a timely and efficient manner, ensuring customer satisfaction and meeting established delivery goals. This position requires a strong commitment to safety, quality, and operational expertise.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate delivery vehicles in a safe and lawful manner, adhering to standard operating procedures and completing daily pre and post-trip checklists.
  • Deliver products to customer locations, meeting established delivery goals and ensuring efficiency, timeliness, and customer satisfaction.
  • Load, unload, and secure products to ensure customers receive clean and damage-free merchandise.
  • Complete daily routes and all appropriate paperwork, communicating obstacles and customer feedback to sales and supervisory personnel.
  • Contribute ideas and suggestions for improvement using LEAN practices and actively support the implementation of continuous improvement to delivery processes.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent education preferred.
  • Minimum 1-3 years of experience in a related field, with route or box delivery driving experience and a valid driver's license.
  • Previous track record of meeting/exceeding metrics measuring performance, safety, attendance, quality, and customer service.
  • Ability to obtain a DOT Medical Certification and a satisfactory driving record reflected in a rolling 36-month average.
  • Experience using POD or tablet devices in scanning customer products and familiarity with scanner and GIS devices preferred.
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing, using the English language, and basic product knowledge.
  • Knowledge of operation of power/mobile equipment and ability to understand addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • Geographical knowledge of the delivery service area once trained.
Personal Attributes:
  • Minimum of 21 years old.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to Office Depot's Core Values and adherence to established Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Physical stamina needed to transport, carry, and load cartons of paper, water, furniture, and other loads up to 100 pounds with the use of appropriate equipment as needed.
  • Ability to use manual pallet jacks to transport pallets of products up to 2,500 pounds.
  • Ability to work in all types of weather due to various climate changes.
  • Repetitive lifting of products such as paper, continuous climbing in and out of vehicles, and standing on feet for long periods.
