POSITION OVERVIEW:

We are seeking a qualified individual to fill the role of an Adjunct Instructor in Basic Psychology. This position involves a commitment to delivering high-quality education and fostering a supportive learning environment for students.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

The selected candidate will be responsible for the following:

  • Delivering professional instruction in accordance with the established course syllabus, ensuring that all course objectives are met.
  • Developing and preparing curriculum and syllabi for the courses taught.
  • Assessing and evaluating student performance to ensure progress towards learning goals.
  • Administering examinations and grading assignments in a timely manner.
  • Maintaining accurate records of student grades and attendance.
  • Participating in training sessions, workshops, and professional development opportunities as required.
  • Upholding safety and security standards within the classroom and training environments.
  • Meeting all administrative deadlines and requirements.
  • Engaging with students, faculty, and administrative staff as necessary.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

A Bachelor's degree in Psychology from an accredited institution is required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Candidates with prior teaching experience at the postsecondary level and familiarity with online teaching platforms will be given preference.

REQUIRED COMPETENCIES:

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills:

  • Ability to create effective lesson plans and instructional materials.
  • Knowledge of the subject matter relevant to the position.
  • Proficiency in presenting information clearly and engagingly.
  • Skill in evaluating student progress through assessments.
  • Competence in utilizing technology and software relevant to the educational field.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with adult learners.
  • Excellent oral and written communication abilities.
  • Familiarity with student information systems.

This role is available across various campus locations, with options for both daytime and evening classes.

Please be aware that adjunct faculty positions are temporary and part-time, appointed on a per-term basis.
