POSITION OVERVIEW:

The role of an Adjunct Instructor in Basic Psychology involves delivering high-quality education to students in accordance with established curriculum standards.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

The responsibilities of the adjunct faculty include:

  • Delivering professional instruction aligned with the approved course syllabus, ensuring that course objectives are met;
  • Developing and preparing course materials and syllabi;
  • Assessing student performance and progress towards learning goals;
  • Administering examinations and grading assignments;
  • Maintaining accurate records of student grades and attendance;
  • Participating in training sessions, workshops, and professional development opportunities;
  • Upholding safety and security standards in educational settings;
  • Meeting all required deadlines and obligations;
  • Engaging with students, colleagues, and supervisors as necessary.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

A Bachelor's degree in Psychology from an accredited institution is required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Candidates with prior teaching experience at the postsecondary level and familiarity with online teaching platforms will be favored.

REQUIRED COMPETENCIES:

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Skills in creating lesson plans and educational materials;
  • Knowledge of the relevant subject area;
  • Proficiency in delivering engaging presentations;
  • Competence in evaluating student progress through assessments;
  • Familiarity with educational technology and software;
  • Strong interpersonal skills, particularly in adult education settings;
  • Effective oral and written communication abilities;
  • Understanding of student information systems.

This position is available across various campus locations, with options for both daytime and evening classes.

Adjunct faculty roles are temporary and part-time, appointed on a term-by-term basis.
