- Subject Matter Expert: Serve as a subject matter expert in tax discipline or industry, providing guidance and support to team members.
- Client Service: Assume client service responsibility for clients, collaborating directly with clients where the responsibility is delegated from the partner.
- Tax Developments: Communicate important tax developments affecting the firm's clients to appropriate firm personnel.
- Governmental Tax Examinations: Delegate and manage governmental tax examinations, representing the client before the appropriate taxing authorities as needed.
- Staff Development: Maintain familiarity with qualifications of all tax staff members, review staff assignments for appropriateness, and work to develop responsible, trained staff.
- Industry Knowledge: Maintain knowledge of general economic and political trends of tax or other legislation that could affect the business climate.
- Experience: Ten years' experience in public accounting and a minimum of three years as a senior manager prior, demonstrating a proven progression in tax complexity, scope, and research.
- Representation: At least two years of experience representing clients before taxing authorities.
- Supervision: Minimum of one year experience supervising and directing work of tax preparers.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting required, master's degree in taxation preferred.
- Certifications: Current and valid certified public accountant's license required, member in good standing with the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
- Travel: Occasional travel for work at clients' offices, meetings, and seminars.
- Overtime: Occasional overtime work is required throughout the year, with heavy overtime work from January 1 to April 15 possible.
- Salary: $208,000 to $251,000.
- Bonus: Competitive bonus structure.

- Retirement: 401K with 5% dollar matching by employer depending on the employee amount up to a maximum of 5%.
